Yoga Bridge Teachers
(We couldn't do it without them!)
Debbie Simon, RYT-500
Debbie is a yoga teacher in Flower Mound and Lewisville. She has been teaching for 7 years and recently completed her advanced training in Yoga for Cancer with Yoga Bridge. From Debbie: "Since I was a kid, I’ve always somehow known about the mind body spirit connection even if I could not put it into words. Running outside always gave me a sense of what I’m capable of being plus it was a form of meditation (before I knew what that meant) for me. I started working in the health and fitness industry over 16 years ago as an aerobics instructor for the local YMCA. I went on to teach several forms of fitness but it was not until I found yoga did the connection of mind body and spirit really come together as a complete holistic practice. I started practicing yoga with DeAnna Nielson, the founder of Blue Anjou Yoga Studio and director of Breathe into Awareness Teacher Training program. From her I learned about the 8 Limbs and how yoga is much more than just a physical practice. It incorporates ethical practices, selfless service, breath work and meditation. I completed my 200 and 500 hour registered teacher training and now teach Hatha, Yin, Kundalini and Meditation. As I’ve gotten older I’ve found my practice and teaching has moved towards the gentler more compassionate way. Since everything is always changing, Yoga is a way for me to connect with the one thing that is unchanging: the stillness within. I hope to bring a sense of peace and calm through gentle movements, meditation and breathe work that will help access that unchanging aspect within all of us. " Debbie Simon is a certified Yoga Bridge Yoga for Cancer Teacher.
Shanna Nasche, RYT-200
Shanna has actively and passionately practiced yoga for 11+ years. She completed teacher training in 2009. Her goal as a teacher is sharing her love of and knowledge about yoga with her students, whether new or experienced in their practice. Her classes focus on building flexibility, balance and strength--based on students’ physical needs and limitations--helpful for anyone with the desire to feel better and move well in life off the mat!

ReplyDeleteBalayam Yoga
It involves going into the mountain pose, followed by stretching one of your legs back and with the other leg going into a lunge like position with your knee at a ninety degree positioning and your hands stretched right above your head. You can take this further to the veerabhadrasana II or warrior pose 2 wherein you bring your hands in front of the chest and straighten your stretched leg, pointing it outwards while your other leg is still at ninety degrees and your both arms are stretched out wide apart.
